About this tour

There is something truly remarkable about the good Migration Calvin Season Safaris mass calving of wildebeest between late January and early March. Within a matter of weeks, most female wildebeest drop their calves during a synchronized birthing that sees the Serengeti’s southern plains crammed with over 400 000 young.

Approximations are that 8 000 wildebeest are born each day – that’s 300 every hour! While lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and canine surely eat their fill of those gangling baby gnus, the synchronized calving is an actual survival mechanism for the species: there’s just too much food for the predators to eat.

The wildebeest congregate within the Southern Serengeti Plains– the Ndutu Area and therefore the northern area of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA). they’re attracted by the abundant fresh grass on the fertile plains and therefore the calcium within the soil, which is important for growth and is transferred to the calves through the mother’s milk.

Day by day itinerary

Day 1:Fly Arusha – Lake Manyara Airstrip – Ngorongoro Crater – Game Drive Sundowner + Cocktails.

Early breakfast, 07:00 AM morning meet and greet for per-safari briefing.07: 20 AM depart and transfer the short distance to Arusha Airport in time for flight to Manyara Airstrip. Flight departs Arusha Airport at 08h00, arrive Manyara Airstrip at 08:25 AM. Here you’ll be together with your Private Driver Guide with 4X4 and drive to Ngorongoro Crater (45- minutes drive). Today you’ll explore the famous Ngorongoro Crater during an exquisite game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater often described together of the wonders of the planet. it’s the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for a couple of of Africa’s densest animal populations.

It is one of the few places where the rare Black Rhinos are often observed in their natural setting. Day 2: Witness the most amazing wildlife spectacle in Africa, the Great Migration – Sundowner + Cocktails.

Breakfast, Ndutu plains is a seasonal location tucked between the NCAA and Serengeti which allows off-road game drives, perfect for migration viewing. the good Migration may be a perpetual movement of over 1.5 million of wildebeest, zebra, antelope and other migratory wildlife in search of fresh foods and water. From January to February, Ndutu is predicted have a dense concentration of migratory herds from because it hosts the highly anticipated calving season. With the gathering of the good Migration along side thousands of baby calves born a day, predators like lion, cheetah, leopard, and hyena also will follow during a desperate fight for survival. Be alert for the Hyaena hyaena, a rare carnivore that prefers the Ndutu area and sometimes spotted at dusk or dawn.

Day 3: Southern Serengeti & Moru Kopjes to see Mammals & Big cats – Private Bush Dinner under the Stars.

Sunrise Safaris Ndutu Plains & Southern Serengeti Plains enjoy bush breakfast. You proceed entirely dictate the pace of your day, in discussion together with your guide. look for lion or cheetah along the sting of the woodland or head out into the vast plains to urge in amongst the wildebeest migration, along side herds of zebra and gazelle at every turn. Day 4: Central Serengeti to see Mammals & Big cats – Sundowners + Cocktails.

Early breakfast. Full outdoor game drives in Serengeti park gets its name from the Maasai word Siringitu meaning endless Plain. The Serengeti is found along the valley and is abound with geological formations. These exposed rock forms “kopjes” are round as a results of spherical wind weathering. These rich grass plains a results of ash deposited by volcanic eruptions, and is home to 3 million animals. Within these grass plains the scattered kopjes act as a heaven for animals from grass fires, predators and therefore the heat. the sport drives during this park are exceptional and game viewing incredible. This Park offers the only opportunity of viewing Cheetah, Leopards and Lions.

Day 5: Seronera Airstrip – Fly to Arusha – Kilimanjaro Airport – Departure

Early start today for an early morning game drive to ascertain also nocturnal predators coming back from hunting and animals awakening in early morning light or breakfast at the lodge, and morning continue your final game drive in Big & Small Marsh Plains. Keep your eyes open for any elusive wildlife that you simply might not have seen, transfer to Seronera Airstrip in time for sign up (Luggage weight everyone is 33 LBS & 11 LBS available bag), and Schedule flight to Arusha Airport. REGIONAL AIR flights depart Seronera Airstrip at 11: 00 AM and reach Arusha Airport at 12: 15 PM.

On your arrival at Arusha Airport you’ll be Meet and greet with our Transfer driver and that we drive the short distance for a fare well deserved Lunch at Arusha Coffee garden. Here you’ll have a diversity of English – African taste food with soft drinks & juices. After lunch we transfer back you to Kilimanjaro International Airport in time for sign up for departure flight.
